Quick Tip: Hair Dye+ Natural Hair

Sunday, July 25, 2010

If your hair is longer than four inches and you are natural (I speak of course from a 4b perspective) you have to buy two packs of whatever dye you wish to use.

No ifs or buts. You simply have to. Otherwise you simply won’t get the necessary converage on the roots and ends. For the dye to be thorough you need to not skimp on the product. Apply liberally.

Natural hair is tough to dye, you need all the help you can get.

Remember two packs of dye. May not be cheap but it is certainly worth it for a proper end product.

[Editors note: Like K Lynn said in the comments temporary hair color, and to some extent, semi permanent color are useless in natural hair. Unless your hair is already a fairly light color not only won’t it dye in a worthwhile manner but the dye with wash out fairly quickly. I’m talking less than ten washes.]

It is also worth knowing that temporary hair colour, and sometimes even semi permanent colour are a waste of time on natural hair, especially locs.
